Once a week, each crew participates in making a home ec project/snack in the cafeteria. Throughout the summer, the children have expressed some of their favorites. I have listed some of them below. If you try them out at home, let me know how they taste. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today we made a s'mores pizza. They LOVED the chocolate chips and the chocolate syrup.
S'mores Pizza
Plain pizza crust
mini marshmallows
chocolate chips
chocolate syrup
graham cracker crumbs
It worked best when I cut the pizza crust before putting it in the oven. First place a thick layer of chocolate chips over the pizza crust. On 450, heat until chips have melted. Take the pizza out and add the mini marshmallows. Again, heat in oven and allow the marshmallows to melt, turn brown and puffy. Serve immediatly. I served it with chocoalte syrup drizzled over the top then added a dusting of graham cracker crumbs.
Magic Potion
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup white sugar
1 liter sprite
1 package unsweetened drink mix (we used fruit punch)
vanilla ice cream
In a large pitcher, stir togther sugar, drink mix and water. Slowly add sprite. Pour into cups then add a few scoops of ice cream and enjoy!!!!
Edible Pencils
Cheese Sticks
Mustard
Bugles
Bologna
mini chocolate chips
Cut a small circle out of the bologna and attach it to your cheese stick using mustard. Then bite the tip of your bugel and add one mini chocoalte chip to use for the pencil tip. You can also add mustard to help it stick. Carefully push the bugel onto the other end of your cheese stick. Bam! You have an edible pencil.
